Turning 20 / Day 1

(This is a scheduled post. I am probably sound asleep when this post comes up on my blog, but I just want to be the first to wish myself a happy birthday, wtf.)

Happy birthday to myself. I am officially twenty years old now. I've got no cake, no candles to blow out, no exaggerated birthday celebration, but for my birthday wish this year? I wish that I dare to dream.

Dare to dream: Three mere words, but it can mean so much. I no longer want my dreams to remain dreams as they are, I want my dreams to come true - to become reality.

Alright, I deviate because I don't want to share my dreams with strangers or people I barely know, wtf.

Day 1 - Your Best Friend

Ever since I was a little girl, I treated the term "best friend" like it was sacred, like if I called the person my best friend, I was dubbing he/she royalty or whatsoever. However, as the years pass me by and the people prove me wrong, the term "best friend" has lost it's stark meaning.

Sure, I have best friends and all, but I no longer treated the term "best friend" as if it was sacred nor do I situate people I call my best friend the first and foremost in my heart because it's giving them the utter ability to hurt you. Trust me, I've been there.

I love my best friends, no doubt about it. Just because I've grown to have a different mindset - thinking it is inane to give anyone extra special treatment or think so greatly of anyone because they're your best friends - does not mean my love for my best friends is any less. This day, I try my best to not categorize my friends in ranks (as in best friends, good friends, close friends) or whatever. I have a handful of good, close friends and I am more than satiated. :)
